I know plenty of people who are looking for property, and many of them are looking for Austin home builder. While I understand finding a place that has some character, the problems associated with older houses are enough to keep me away. I do not own a home yet, but when I get out there and start looking, I will only consider buying new homes. The last thing I need is to buy a great house and I end up having to worry about paying for issues with the current foundation, buying a new roof or old, rusty plumbing.
My family home is rather solid and it is older, but I know that many people have not taken good care of their places over the years. I also know that I am picky and buying a newer home means that I will be able to personalize a bit more than I would an older home without having to pay as much to knock down walls and things of that nature. Basically, I do not want to do as much work making the place livable, so I refuse to buy a place that is too old.
